Garbage Truck Law

I was currently typing this post out on my Grandma's work computer.
Looking for inspiration for a new post, I turned my head and saw a printed-out email tacked to the wall.
Here is what it said:

"The Law of the Garbage truck
One day I hopped in a taxi and we took off for the airport. We were  driving in the right lane when suddenly a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us. My taxi driver slammed on his brakes, skidded, and missed the other car by just inches! The driver of the other car shifted his head around and started yelling at us. My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. And, I mean, he was really friendly. So I asked, "Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!" This is when my taxi driver taught me 'The Law of the Garbage Truck.'

He explained that many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment. As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it and sometimes they'll dump it on you. Don't take it personally.
Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on. Don't take their garbage and spread it to other people at work, at home, or on the streets.
The bottom line is that successful people do not let garbage trucks take over their day. Life's too short to wake up in the morning with regrets, so...Love people who treat you right. Pray for the ones who don't.
Life is ten percent what you make of it and ninety percent how you take it!

Have a blessed, garbage-free day!"

What would rate this story? I'd give it a ten.
So, yes! Do have a blessed, garbage-free day!

Cooking!

For this Summer I'm going to be doing a lot of baking and cooking meals to help my mom.
My brother and I have been throwing meals together these past few days but we are running out of ideas!
If you know any good recipes please tell me by commenting here on my blog. I would be very thankful!

My Around-the-World trip

Have you ever wanted to go somewhere that appealed to you a lot?
Well, I've wanted to go to a lot of places! Just some of the countries and places I want to visit:

China- I'm attached to the people of China and would like to visit Asia someday.

India- I've just recently wanted to see India when I saw a photo of a family friend who lives there. I really like the saris and would love to own one! I've been looking all over Amazon.com for different saris!

Peru- I know a girl who is a Peruvian and I'd like to meet her in person! She's a sweet girl, too!

Washington, D.C.- The United States' Capital sounds amazing to visit. We live far away from it but there's always a way!

There are so many more places that I'd really like to see sometime but this post could not contain them without me losing readers!

4th of July!

We had a GREAT 4th! My mom, little sister and I made a cake for my baby sister's (who is in Heaven) birthday, and we set chairs out in our backyard field to watch the fireworks.
There were no pauses in the firework show at all! It was so much fun! In fact, I took so many photos with my camera, I ran out of space on my camera card!

There was so much to look at! My family and I enjoyed it all. We didn't want to come back to the house for our own 'Grand Finale' as we call it.
The Grand Finale is what we call the last firework of the night. This one was a HUGE fountain-type firework that was fantastic!
This particular firework, I thought, looked something like a dragon face.
I hope you all had a wonderful 4th!

He ran well

Last week we traveled to my Great Grandpa's  funeral. ):
Lots of tears, lots of sadness. I loved him so much. But he ran well.

My Great Grandpa took up golfing at 70 years young and got a hole-in-one at a fascinating age! My uncle talked about him at the funeral. He talked about, as he put it, "extraordinary" things. He also gave an Irish (My Mom's Dad was full-blooded Irish.) prayer. "God saw you getting tired, a cure was not to be....."

My Great Grandpa really was great. In fact, he was awesome! He still is. And, hey, I still got him in my heart. I can't see him, but I can remember him!

Jesus gives New Life

Please, pray for my Great Grandpa who is in the hospital. He is in I.C.U. for greater, more intense care. The Doctors think he has congestive heart failure.

Please, pray for him. He is my Mom's only Grandpa. He has outlived my Dad's Grandpas by twenty years.
I love him so much, and I don't want to lose him.
He is such a wonderful Great Grandpa and he is kind.
My little sister cried a lot this morning when my Dad told us. My Mom cried a lot yesterday, she told us, and I needed a lot of comforting as well from my Mom tonight.

I don't know what God has planned, and I am scared. This is very hard to deal with. We visited my Great Grandpa recently in the hospital when he was getting over the pneumonia and he had a bad cough.
Now, I don't know what to do. I've prayed, I've written in my journal to write out what I have thought, I've told my family members what I'm feeling. But I don't feel any better.

My big brother told me that things could end up good, but then they might not. My family is so wonderful and comforting. I need it now.

To God be the Glory.
