Saturday's Selections
We stand and lift up our hands
For the joy of the Lord is our strength
We bow down and worship Him now
How great, how awesome is He
Holy is the Lord God Almighty
The earth is filled with His glory
Holy is the Lord God Almighty
The earth is filled with His glory
The earth is filled with His glory
And together we sing...
Everyone sing

World Malaria Day
Today, April 25th, is World Malaria Day.
Malaria kills approximately 655,000 children each year. It develops symptoms that usually include fever, chills, sweating, nausea, and headache. In severe cases, it can advance into coma or death.
It is a preventable and treatable disease, but a child dies of malaria practically every 30 seconds.
Compassion International helps prevent malaria by : giving mosquito nets to families at risk of malaria, treating and educating families on malaria and how to prevent it.
You can support Compassion's Malaria Intervention by donating at this link.
A net gives protection from mosquitoes and the diseases they carry such as malaria, dengue fever, and yellow fever.
Please give so others can live.

Prayer
Watching the news coverage of the tragic explosions at the Boston marathon yesterday, I'm overwhelmed and saddened by the impact of it all. So many people injured...and an 8-year-old boy killed by the explosions? I could begin to cry right now while I'm writing this.
I'm praying for the families involved in this infamous time. It's one of the biggest things anyone can do. God is listening, so I'm talking.
Corrie ten Boom was right when she said that "a man is powerful on his knees."
I speak up to God about things I don't tell my mom or dad.
It might be something I've seen on the news, stuff I'm bothered about, what's happened throughout the day...
Now I feel overwhelmed. But in sad times like this, I'm glad I have Someone Who listens to everything I need to say about what I'm feeling.
Though it's very confusing at this time as to how the explosions happened, God has a plan...even if I have trouble trusting in Him.

Saturday's Selections
Come To Me shows that God is always there for you. We'll always need Him, and He'll always be there.
It brought a smile to my face the first time I heard it and, since then, every time I've heard it!
"Come to me when
You're weary and
I'll give you hope when you're hurting
I'll give you rest from your burden"- Jamie Grace, Come To Me

Writer's Block
I can't think of anything to write about here at all! I've always had a bad case of writer's block when it comes to writing here on the blog. I have Pandora Radio on right now and (what a coincidence!) a song by Aaron Shust came up called "Give Me Words To Speak."
Right now I kind of need some words to write!
I'm on World Book learning about Haiti while writing this post (with my little brother sitting on my lap), listening to Pandora, going through recent photos, and scanning my Pinterest account hoping someone else in going to pin something interesting soon!
I know I have something to say but I just can't grasp it!
Writer's Block: Terrible thing! I can't get around it! I have to take a short break and hope I come up with a good subject to write about. Sometimes, I think of something the night before and the next day, I forget all about it. I wonder if I write better poems or take nicer photos than blog posts at times!
I go through my photos and find a few I can make a story, poem or a blog post out of. I sometimes make an a Capella song out of the photos if I feel like it (ok, so it's a Capella until I write out some piano music for it...eventually!).
And I always hope that when I put a lot of photos in a post, people won't skip to the photos and forget the rest! :)
And suddenly, I have myself a blog post...
