Focal Rose

For Valentine's Day, my Daddy bought a whole bouquet of flowers for my Mama.  I was inspired to take this photo because of the unfolding petals and quiet colors in the pink rose.  For effect, I used Focal B&W on Picmonkey, a free photo editing website.

Banana and Chocolate Muffins

My sister and I helped make these amazing muffins for a get-together breakfast.  The chocolate chips were gooey, and the whole thing was melt-in-your-mouth delicious.  I've always enjoyed food photography, so this was fun.  I set my camera to macro and messed around with the ISO and aperture.

Colorful Markers

Markers are such amazing little drawing tools.  So many colors, so many ideas.  When I saw these markers vibrantly jutting out of a re-used tomato sauce can in my friend's house today, I took out my camera and snapped a photo.  The colors drew me in to taking this photo.  It's so bright and fun.

Building Snowmen

The little kids and I enjoyed creating snowmen a week ago.  One had no arms, another had no eyes, but each looked wonderful.

My little sister took a while to build this snow-girl, and used her Hello Kitty hat for it.  We used baby carrots, sticks and rocks for the faces.  The snow was very hard, and occasionally an "eye" would fall off and we'd struggle to push it back in.

One of my little brothers even put rock buttons on his snowman.  He made a plate of food for him too.  He was very creative, from the smile to the arms pointing up and down.

Then came Mr. Simple Snowman, who (though he has no carrot nose, no arms and no buttons) is very special.  My brother, who made him, didn't like that it didn't look good like everybody else's.  But don't you think this snowman looks fantastic?  I like simplicity.

Each and every person, just like these four snowmen, are different and special.  People need to know that.

Little Brother's Art

My brother has decided to make a movie with one of his buddies.  This is one of his many ideas that he drew for the movie that he wants me to film.  With such a wonderful imagination, he even added snowshoes to his man.  Just looking at it makes me want to grab a jacket! :)

Butterfly Ornament

This little butterfly is one that my little sister puts on her shelf above her jewelry box.  This was the only photo I took of it that day, so I'm surprised at how well it turned out with a little editing.

Juicy Pineapple

This is a pineapple we had for a snack last week.  I love taking shots of the beautiful texture and colors.  It was just as fun eating it as it was to photograph it!

Snow Bird

This little bird just sat in the same spot in our front yard, so I couldn't resist using my telephoto lens to see him watch the setting sun.  Do any of you readers know what bird this is?

Snowy Sunset

For some reason, I've wanted to post a whole bunch of photos of sunsets on The Godly Photographer.  Every time I go outside, I think, "Oh, just one more!"
I took this from my back porch just after a cold snowstorm.  I had my Dad's huge shoes on too, so the air was chilling my heels!
