The Messy Chocolate Bunny

Baby brother had found a big chocolate bunny somewhere, and he plopped onto the kitchen floor and promptly bit into it.  He knew such a messy block of candy wasn't for him, but he delighted in it anyway.

Unfortunately, I'm not one to stop him when it comes to something cute (and safe) to photograph.  Besides, if he had become messy, I would have done the laundry anyway. ;)
Baby brother was happy...until I took the chocolate away from him.  He got over it soon enough, and I came away with some cute photos.  Win-win, I guess.

Fruits

Sorry for the delay.  I couldn't get to this series yesterday due to preparation for the lunar eclipse last night.

My sister and I made apple butter the other day, and we were washing apples and setting them on a dish mat.  I loved the little water droplets on the two apples, and grabbed this shot before getting back to work.

These bananas have been sitting on our big Fall plate for a while.  It sits on an old ice cabinet near the back door.  There was lovely natural light.

OK, I just had to use this photo.  Back in the 1800s, the Supreme Court ruled that the tomato was a vegetable, but it is actually a fruit.  There's your little history lesson for today! ;)

Late Night Cake

One night not too long ago, my Gram bought a cake from Walmart for us.  After having a couple pieces (and, no, I don't want to know how many calories they were!), I was so tired that I lay my head down on the table.  The interesting perspective I saw was pretty cool, and I don't think I would have seen it otherwise.  I put my camera in the exact place and snapped this picture.  My Dad was tracking the calories on his phone, and I think it added a little humor to the shot.

Imperfect Apples

At our local market, we bought a bag of apples.  They weren't fully red, and didn't look like the near-perfect apples I usually see at Walmart. :)  But they were really tasty.  My Granny washed them up and set them on the counter-top.  The sun was shining through the window and onto the apples.  I'd been using my camera outside and, when I came back in, I took a few photos.  The contrast between light and dark, and the green and red were beautiful.

And then they were eaten.

Tea Party

All the girls in my family were invited by our Grandma to a tea party at her Church a few days ago.  It was a wonderful experience because I remember going to annual tea parties when I was younger.

Before we moved to a different house, Mama would host "Tuesday Teas" for us kids.  She and one chosen girl or boy (yes, the boys in our family were invited!) would prepare all the necessities for the tea while the others took a 30-minute rest time.  My little sister plans them every once in a while now.  She's the little hostess in our home... she wants to open a Tea Room when she grows up!

The Church ladies brought all kinds of foods.  Cucumber sandwiches, grapes, banana bread, cake.  They also brought their teapots as table decorations.  One lady said hers came from England!

There were many different types of tea in little glass bowls, and big pitchers full of hot water sat on the table in front of us.  Everyone talked and laughed with each other.  We shared stories and talked about lots of things.  It was great to hear about when the older ladies were children and what they remembered.

The tea was delicious.  Little Sister had six cups!  I had three (using the same teabag twice).
My Grandma stood up and talked about a Tea Room in a building she remembered way back when.  We girls helped hand out recipe booklets from the old business. I had the honor of drawing a name from a container to see who would win a beautiful bouquet of roses in a pretty vase.

I like tea parties.

The Arizona Tea Line-Up

Arizona Tea, as I've said before, is my favorite drink.  My mama once let me buy four cans (and, no, I didn't drink them all in one day!) for $0.79 each at ALDI!

Banana and Chocolate Muffins

My sister and I helped make these amazing muffins for a get-together breakfast.  The chocolate chips were gooey, and the whole thing was melt-in-your-mouth delicious.  I've always enjoyed food photography, so this was fun.  I set my camera to macro and messed around with the ISO and aperture.

Juicy Pineapple

This is a pineapple we had for a snack last week.  I love taking shots of the beautiful texture and colors.  It was just as fun eating it as it was to photograph it!
